Medashi knew that everyone in the Weapon Specialty unit all used a distinct weapon that defined their own right as a shinobi. As a new member of the unit, he wanted to keep the differentiation going by choosing a weapon that could be swift yet interchangeable for both offense and defense. It was then that he chose a pair of iron fans with blades as his weapon of choice. While the fans were doing what he had initially had in mind for them, it was a plus that the fan was also capable of becoming a second makeshift weapon (a dagger in this case) when folded up and it made a good weapon for a first attack or for parrying a weapon in general.

These bladed fans were created and forged by Ryūnosuke Hanabira, one of Medashi's clansmen who happens to be a apprentice blacksmith. The fans are 30 cm in length and they are made of a special iron that is capable of folding. The blades are also removable if Medashi simply wanted to practice with them and not carelessly hurt himself. The design was created to be suitable to only Medashi's hand grips and each fan with the blades on them equal to weighing 7lbs. Medashi liked the weapons so much that he even named them – The Petal Blade Fans. He named them that because he believes that the cherry blossom can be beautiful yet deadly if they are trampled on.

In battle, Medashi will only enforce the use of these fans if his opponent is quite powerful and his normal means of fighting are not cutting it against them or if said opponent does not concede when Medashi gives them a fair warning. While shinobi are meant to be killers of stealth, Medashi does not believe in using excessive force unless it's extremely necessary. When using these bladed fans in battle, Medashi's speed and reaction timing for executing attacks are double, which makes it nearly impossible for anyone to know what kind of attacks he would use on his opponent.



Medashi is also lacking severely in the majority of his stats and he wants to improve, so he takes on the path of Weapon Specialist in order to improve on his abilities while wielding a weapon. This is how his weapons would help in each of his stats.

 Speed (Number of Fan Attacks in a Single Onslaught)
 Stamina (Length of Fan Usage In Battle)
 Seals (Learning to Seal Fan Away in Scrolls or a Different Space)
