Tani (谷,Tani) is one of the main characters in the fanfiction series, "Ravine To My Heart". She is a Chūnin-level kunoichi of Kumogakure and the daughter of A and Mabui.

l BACKGROUD l

As the daughter of A, the former Raikage, Tani was expected to live up to her father's expectations to be a strong shinobi like him. As a child, Tani just wanted to go on adventures with Killer Bee and not worry about training or becoming a kunoichi. This made A believe that she wasn't mentally ready to endure his intense training, but Mabui wanted her daughter to enjoy her life before she took on the life changing yet brutal path of being a kunoichi. During her days as a academy student, most of the teachers and students called her by the name of Lady T (レディーT, Redī T), the Raikage's little princess. She didn't like the fact that people treated her like she was some regal sovereign, so she threaten anyone who ever called her by that name. She wanted to be treated normally and because of that, she made some enemies along the way.

Walking home from the Academy one day, Tani had witnessed a bunch of boys who were bothering her best friend, Tanoshii. She had warned them to let her go and she went after them, not caring at all about her well being. In the sad turn of events, the boys got the best of her and captured Tanoshii in the process and leaving Tani lying on the ground hurt. Tani was not one to stand by and not do anything to help. At that moment, she realized that her heart was truly strong like when it came down to wanting help people and her patience was low, just like A.

Not liking the fact that these boys was putting her friend at risk because of her, Tani worked up the courage and went after them alone. Tani had finally found the hideout that the gang of boys that held Tanoshii captured. Tanoshii warned Tani to run and leave her behind, but Tani was not having that. She refused and told her best friend that she gonna fight all the boys and rescued her. The boys thought it was hilarious that one girl was gonna beat them up. When the boys charged towards Tani, they got a big surprise. One by one, she took them on and brutally beat them down.

After that, Tani and the Leader of the boys faced each other in a brutal brawl of raw strength. All Tanoshii could do is watch helplessly as her best friend struggled to fight for her safety. They had fought for over an hour and Tani wanted this senseless fight to end. After they clashed for a final time, Tani was the victor of the fight and claimed the victory by saying, "You just got owned...by a female powerhouse!". When the fight was over, Tani had freed Tanoshii and hugged her tightly, glad that her precious friend wasn't hurt.

After she got home that night, Tani told her parents and of course, A became furious because some brat kids had messed with his precious little girl. Tani had explained that she had took care of it and there was no need to do anything too extreme. After everything had calm down and Mabui had treated her daughter's bruises, Tani asked her father to train her and she made a vow to become a stronger kunoichi that can protect her friends and family with her own bare hands. And her journey down the shinobi path had begun...

l PERSONALITY l
===========

Tani is an adventurous girl and she's always seeking excitement in her life. Daily routines and things like schedules easily bore her and she tries something new every day. She likes exploring new things and she's willing to learn more about them before anyone else and she also likes to very spontaneous. Tani likes to encourage people to follow their right path but her encouragement could have sometimes have negative effects without her knowing. Tani can be very optimistic and positive about life, giving others around her a sense of wanting to live to the fullest. When it comes to herself, she doesn't like to talk about her feelings too much, because she doesn't want anything to hold her back

On her team during battle, Tani has the intelligence for battle tactics but she does not use them at all. Instead, she will charge forward and start attacking without a decent stragety. If things get too out of hand, she will stop and try to come up with something a little more practical. Drawn out battles is the one thing that she cannot tolerate well. Another weakness of hers is that she cannot dodge attacks properly and she has to use the Body Flicker Technique as a means to increase her agility.

When it comes down to her friends, her kindness and 'tough love' is her greatest strength. She cares about them enough to tell her friends the hard truth even if it hurts them. Lying is the one thing that can't do. When it comes to herself, she doesn't like to talk about her feelings too much, because she doesn't want anything to hold her back. When things seems so bad that it's absolutely, then she will give up on it in a heartbeat. So far, this has not happened yet.

l APPEARANCE l
===========

Tani has light blonde hair, teal-green eyes, and dark skin similar to her father, but in a lighter tone. Her hair is cut short with tiny curled fringes on the right side of her face. During the pre-timeskip, Tani wore a white sleeveless open jacket with a black shirt underneath and grey tights. She also wore black shinobi sandals and her white forehead protect was worn like a sash around her waist. As a genin, she had more upper body strength than most kunoichi, even though her visual muscles were not prominent back then.

After the time-skip, Tani's hair still remains the same, but the fringes have grown into a longer and wider one, covering most of the right side of her face. She now wears a a while sleeveless hoodie with a black undershirt that stops to her midriff and her metal plate from her forehead protector is located at the bottom center of the new hoodie. She also wears red wrist bands on her wrists, baggy cuffed black pants with red lining on the side with red and white shin guards, and flat black combat boots. On her exposed stomach, she has a belly piercing of a lightning bolt on her belly. To give herself an edgier look, Tani dyed most of her hair jet black, leaving some of the end fringes blonde.

During the timeskip, Tani went under some intense training with her Father, A and built her body to better accomodate her as a kunoichi. Most of her new muscles lies within her upper arms, which is shown works well with the Koppujutsu style fighting that she uses. She has also blossomed into an attractive young lady, taking in some of her mother's looks.

=========

Tani is a strong kunoichi in her own right and she is a Power type kunoichi, which is a rarity in Kumogakure since most kunoichi are either Kenjutsu types, Intel types, or Speed types. Her sensei, Nagi Shunrai has noted for her to be splendid kunoichi despite her weakness in agility.

She possesses strong physical strength, being able to shatter a steady boulder into tiny rocks and she is also able to split a large piece of wood in half with a simple flying kick. In most circumstances, Tani prefers to use taijutsu more than her ninjutsu (staying true to her nindo of wanting to fight with just using her barehands).

Tani has her own unique fighting style that she is very proud of, but she does has a few moves that she pays homage to the biggest inspirations in her life: A and Killer Bee. Tani truly believes in fighting and defeating an opponent instead of killing them. On such occasions, she uses Koppujutsu, which is the art of breaking an opponent's bones with strong physical attacks.


LIGHTNING RELEASE

Tani is also very adept in the Lightning Style and she surges electricity through her fists and legs, making her blows much more powerful. Normally, Tani would use her ninjutsu as a evasive move to blow her enemies away. If she just wants to capture someone, Tani can use her Lightning Release in a way to knock the person out.
