ATARU X TENTEN (requested by KazameNiko)
7 - What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
Ataru is the first one who realizes his feelings for Tenten are more than just friendly feelings and it occurs near the end of Part I. He makes note that he would always compliment her on her appearance, calling her “pretty” and “a beauty in her own right”. Being only fourteen at the time, Ataru didn’t understand why he felt that towards Tenten and as he got older, he finally understood why he want to do small things for her such as training with her and spending time with her. He had fallen in love with her and he even knew that Tenten might of had possible feelings towards Neji. Knowing that information didn’t stop him from confessing his feelings towards Tenten and kissing her before the start of the Fourth Shinobi World War.
Tenten on the other hand didn’t really notice Ataru’s feelings until he proves it to her by being there for her during difficult times in Part II (Neji’s death, friendly comfort, etc). During “The Last”, Tenten is able to finally move forward with coming to terms with past events and she gives Ataru a chance at dating her. This begins a new chapter in her life and she eventually falls completely in love with him.
20 - What do their family/friends think of their relationship?
Unfortunately, Ataru’s parents didn’t approve of their son dating Tenten at first because she was a kunoichi and not a civilian girl. Ataru was offended that his parents wanted him to be with a person who didn’t understand the lifestyle that he constantly lived on a daily basis. Over time, they’ve accepted her since they saw how adamant Ataru was with not wanting to cut his ties with her.
29 - one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart.
The one fact that hurts me about this pairing is that Tenten constantly pushed Ataru away so she wouldn’t have to face the pain of losing a loved one again. Even though Ataru understood and gave her the space she needed, he hated the fact that Tenten was blaming herself suffer out of guilt and relented on the fact she could of done something to prevent Neji from dying. Not to mention that her somewhat cold disposition towards Ataru after the events of the war also drifted them apart.

The fact that mends this pairing is that Ataru had always loved Tenten for who she truly was and accepts her strengths and weaknesses. Never once has he tried to seriously date someone because no one else never came close to the qualities that drew him to Tenten. To Ataru, Tenten was the perfect woman to him because she was always true to herself and never changed for anyone and her uniqueness was a rarity to him. That was the main quality that attracted him to Tenten and he never gave up on her.

1 - Who is the most affectionate?
Benkei is definitely affectionate with his precious Tamiko. Stealing kisses, teasing her, complimenting her everyday is one of the things that brings him joy. Plus, having a cute little boy by the name of Isamu only amplified that affection one-hundred fold. ^^
14 - Who kisses the hardest?
Surprisingly, that award goes to Tamiko. Whenever she feels a little frisky, Benkei can easily get overwhelmed by her when she kisses him. Benkei figured this out when they had their first intimate embrace together when they were in their teens and still dating. Although he can kiss pretty hard himself, Tamiko has him beat in that area.
29 - One headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart.
The MAIN thing that breaks my heart with this pairing is that whenever something goes wrong, Benkei would try to comfort Tamiko with lies and gloss things over so she wouldn’t have to worry about him. Benkei knows better than anyone that Tamiko gets furious whenever he does this because he loves her so much and doesn’t want to see his firecracker in any pain. Another headcanon is whenever Benkei is away on missions, Isamu would sleep with his mother as a way for her to possibly cope with the feeling of her husband not being there. Why am I making these sad headcanons?! ;A;

The thing that mends this OTP is that Benkei and Tamiko have been together for many years and started dating when they were only twelve and thirteen years old. That’s ELEVEN long years of those two being together, which makes this a very realistic pairing! ^^
